About the Alien Cams Revolution

As their name suggests, Alien Revolution Cams are here to deliver a brand new take on an older design.

Since their first appearance in the late 1980's, Alien Cams have always been revolutionary in the world of rock climbing, with Dave Waggoner's original design transforming the way in which challenging faces with marginal anchor points could be climbed. This latest incarnation of the original flexible shaft cam brings a new revolution to the market.

The Revolution uses the same simple yet super effective overall design of Alien's original Classic cams, but have made adjustments which further improve their performance and usability. Alongside the traditional spring and sheath trigger system, the cam lobes have internal springs and have redesigned trigger wires to improve the action and holding power. The trigger wires are made from durable wire rod and are shaped to enhance pull power and be less obtrusive.

The trigger design itself has also been improved in the Revolutions. The thumb pull and trigger bar have been reshaped to give a more ergonomic feel and eliminate any uncomfortable pinching or abrasion on the hands after long hours of tough climbing.

Their strong flexible shafts have always been what made Alien Cams so popular, and in the Revolutions these have also been improved and upgraded. Made with high grade stainless steel wire, the shaft has greater flexibility and strength than those of the original cams with less weight! As well as improved protection around the shaft, this allows the Revolutions to be slipped deeper into cracks whilst reducing the effects of rope drag.

With a major reduction in weight and improved technical features, the Alien Revolution flexible shaft cam is a super-modern take on a classic, and is sure to be just as popular among climbing enthusiasts who seek the highest level of protection on the most challenging routes.
