About the Atomic Backland 85
The Atomic Backland range is all about discovery and seeing what the mountain has to offer. The Backland 85 touring range skis are a tool for adventure. They have a slight enough waist for charging groomers but are technical enough for touring trips. The Backland 85 skis feature the same construction as the 95 model. However, the narrower waist reduces the weight and increases hard snow performance.
All good touring skis must be light. Few things are more tiring than lugging heavy planks on your feet to the summit of a mountain! The Backland 85 skis weigh close to 1.3 kg per ski so if you team these up with a suitable touring binding you're in for some super easy ascension. Atomic have achieved this impressive low weight through the use of an UltraLight Woodcore and Carbon Backbone technology.
These skis are great for those new to touring all the way up to seasoned pros. The added benefit is the included touring skins. It can often be difficult to find skins that perfectly fit your skis. However, the included Atomic skis are perfectly shaped to suit the Backland 85 skis.
The Backland 85 skis are great because they are versatile enough to handle the resort. As ski touring is fairly niche, chances are you won't be doing it every day. This is where the Backland 85 skis come in useful. They can tour in the backcountry and they rip on the pistes!
