About the Burton Cartel EST

The 2020 Burton Cartel EST snowboard bindings are what all other bindings get compared to. These are on more pro's feet than any other binding, regardless of if they are sponsored by Burton.

The Cartel EST uses Burton's Dual Component EST baseplate featuring the Hinge. The baseplate upper spar is made from 30% short glass / nylon composite which matches great response with a playful overall feel. The lower section uses 45% short glass / nylon composite which gives a very similar performance level to a carbon composite baseplate but without breaking your wallet in the process. The Hinge is a unique feature to Burton and allows the foot to roll more naturally to reduce fatigue, make ollies easier and increase comfort.

The highback is a single component Canted Living Hinge design which increases riding comfort and response by aligning the highback to a natural leg angle. This reduces stress on your knees and ankles and increases the amount of power transmission by ensuring pressure is immediately transferred from rider to board. The highback is set to zero lean too and can be changed using Burton's DialFLAD tool free forward lean adjuster which can be done anywhere.

The Cartel uses Burton's Hammockstrap ankle straps featuring a stitch less design which prevents pinch points and allows Burton to pre-shape the strap to match the contours of a boot. The Nylon spine built into it retains board response by giving a more direct connection. The Flex Slider is a thinned out section of the strap that hinges and allows the strap to move out of the way when you're getting into your bindings.

AutoCANT SensoryBED cushioning system uses a dual density EVA material in the footbed which settles your boot into a natural position when riding, regardless of your stance. Matched with the canted nature of the base means you get a super comfortable ride that allows you to load energy better and ride for longer.
