Deuter’s Aircontact 55 + 10 is aimed towards those who require a low weight pack with all the functionality of a traditional bag. The pack is the ideal size for through-hiking or `long-distance adventures where the changeable capacity allows you to carry more or less.

Like conventional multi-day backpacks the Aircontact 55 is a top loading design, with a separate lower compartment for storage of a sleeping bag or bulkier items. Elasticated pockets on the side of the pack give easy access to those vital items like water bottles, maps or tent poles. Similarly, zippered hip belt pockets can be used to keep small essentials close to hand.

The generously sized main compartment of the Aircontact 55 features a sleeve and clip that can be used to house a separate hydration bladder. Additional volume can be facilitated through use of the extendable lid, enabling you to carry more. Moreover, on the face of the pack a separate elastic mesh sleeve can be used to store wet, smelly kit in order to stop it compromising clothing inside the bag.

Incorporated into the design is Deuter’s own Aircomfort system, where an X-frame enhances torsional rigidity and flexibility. This transfers weight effectively from the shoulders into the padded hip, enabling you to carry heavier loads more comfortably. Breathable padding with venting foam chambers circulates air through Aircontact cushions keeping your back cool. Triglide buckles on load-lifters effectively pull pack weight forward reducing the feeling of your backpack toppling backwards.

Designed to provide comfort whilst carrying heavier loads in the backcountry the Aircontact 55 + 10 incorporates ECL hip fins to transfer weight effectively to the hips.
