About the Faction La Machine 3
The Faction La Machine range prove that touring skis don't have to be flat tailed and narrow to be light enough for touring, with the right construction they can be wider, rockered and just a lot more fun on the way down.
La Machine 3 is the wider model at 109 mm but not so wide that its only useful for powder days. The 109 width keeps it versatile enough around the entire mountain and performs on not just in deeper conditions. It has the same carbon construction as the 2 that makes this ski that’s as light as a feather, with a unique and progressive shape that’s designed specifically for skiing off piste. It's softer and 200g lighter than Factions already popular Agent skis, keeping your legs fresh even on the longest of touring missions.
Its extended rockered shape and Carbon Laminate caters to playful skiers who enjoy swishing and smearing through everything from squeaky-dry snow in the morning, to sun-baked potatoes in the afternoon. Backed by the finest, most durable Austrian construction, powered 100% by renewable energy.
La Machine 3 is can be used as your everyday powder skis or you can use them to seek out new lines and hidden bowls that you want to make the absolute most of the way down.
- Lightweight Paulownia Wood Core - Paulownia for a light and responsive core with excellent rebound
- Extended Tip/Tail Rocker - Playful shape designed for pivots and turn initiation to avoid edge catches
- Full Carbon Laminate- Ensures long lasting pop and increases the flex of the ski without adding the weight of a metal laminate
- Mustache Flex - Stiffer areas either side of the binding area transition into softer flex zones to absorb different terrain
- Full Strength Sidewall construction - Sidewalls are strong, durable and give great grip
- Elliptical Sidecut- This is a combination of a tight sidecut in front of the boot, and a larger sidecut behind, this enables the skier to make short carves, yet the ski is still stable and easy to control at high speeds
- Recycled Materials - By recycling waste material Faction have reduced the ecological impact of their bases by 75%
- Full Sandwich Construction - Layers of fibreglass above and below the core give a smooth consistent flex without adding noticeable weight
- Anti-chip, Micro-cap - The topsheet is slightly rolled over to seamlessly meet the sidewall, this protects this high stress area which can be otherwise prone to damage
