About the Faction Prodigy 4
The Faction Prodigy 4.0 has been built to be playful when jibbing yet solid when charging lines and stomping huge airs, the 116mm waist, shape and construction of the Prodigy 4.0 provide float and a surfy feel in the pow, always ensuring that you can slash that wind lip or butter that stamped-out take off with ease.
One of the more directional shapes in the Faction lineup, the Prodigy 4 features a slightly set back mount point to maximise forwards stability and a firm to medium flex that combines with full sidewall construction and camber underfoot to create a ski that feels reliable and burly, with plenty of edge hold despite its increased width and focus on backcountry and off piste skiing.
There's definitely still an element of playfulness ton this ski though- plenty of tip rocker with a moderate semi-twin tail rocker provides float and allows the ski to be broken loose and to slash in soft snow, as well as easing turn initiation for a nimble feel. The tip also features a tapered shape, where the widest point of the tip is pushed back towards the binding, lowering swing weight to improve the ski's ability to pivot, and also lowering the drag effects caused by powder snow to help the ski feel surfy and smooth on those deep days.
All of these features are wrapped around a poplar woodcore that's snappy and durable, and ultimately makes the Faction Prodigy 4 a dependable and versatile option for any and all playful Backcountry skiers who prioritise soft snow performance but need a ski that they can rely on in all conditions.
