About the Full Tilt (now K2) Ascendant SC Grip Walk

The 2022 Ascendant SC Grip Walk is a tour-ready ski boot using Full Tilt's traditional 3 piece shell design. The Ascendant has a host of new technology starting with its construction: Full Tilt now uses a TPU/Grillamid shell to reduce weight and to increase durability for freeride skiing. Similar to the previous seasons' models, the Ascendent has a wider 102mm last width, which makes it ideal for those with higher volume feet or wanting a bit more space around the toes.

The ribbed tongue allows for a smooth progressive flex for improved control and that eliminates uncomfortable pressure spots. This model comes with a stiff 120 flex tongue which makes it perfect for those looking for response and performance in the most technical terrain. However, the tongue is interchangeable and can be easily swapped out for softer flexes at any time or completely removed for uphill touring sections for less weight and greater movement, an internal gaiter keeps the boot sealed.

This particular shell utilises the new Tour Cuff, which incorporates a walk mode. This simple lever-operated mechanism unlocks the cuff, allowing the skier a greater range of motion for a more natural stride when you’re not skiing. This walk mode is easy to use and makes these boots great for backcountry boot packing, hiking features in the park, strolling around town in search of street spots. Simply flip the lever up when you want to walk, then flip it down when you want to shred. Gripwalk outsoles are made out of a high-grade polymer and a midgrip in the centre of the sole will keep your feet steady on unstable snow, ice, rock, or even the slippery sun terrace at your favourite après bar.

The 2022 Ascendant SC also comes with industry-leading Intuition liners to create a truly personalised fit for the whole boot. This boot uses the Pro Tour Wrap liner to achieve a secure fit around the whole foot, with fewer seams to reduce the chance of experiencing discomfort. The liner also includes a lacing hole system, a removable external J-bar around the heel, and a detachable cuff spoiler. These combined features help to find that perfect balance of a good fit and comfort.
