About the Jones Stratos
The 2021 Stratos from Jones, as stated was just an experimental board that Jeremy Jones was playing around with. He was blown away how well it felt on the mountain, he just had to bring this brand new board to life for everyone to ride! Shaped like a freeride board but with the characteristics for freestyle the Stratos is the modern take for versatile all mountain shredding.
The Stratos features a narrow Progressive Sidecut with a friendly flex creating a very playful feeling board needed for freestyle adventures and the 3D Base Contour 3.0 shape smooths out your edge-to-edge transfers, making your turn initially feel more like that of a pow board. All though the Stratos is mainly focused for all mountain, this tech really enhances freeriding capabilities proving how versatile this board is!
Even with a playful flex the Stratos generates a huge amount of power both into and out of turns, which in turn delivers one of the most thrilling rides you will experience. In order to help control this intense power, speed and drive, Jones have added Traction tech 3.0. This handy piece of technology helps you hold an edge on the iciest of faces. When combined with the spoon shape, the Stratos becomes an incredible board for carving and sweeping turns down the piste.
Constructed with a dual density premium FSC Ultra Core, predominantly using lightweight paulownia with poplar stringers placed in specific areas of the board results in a super light and durable core with great turning power. To further enhance torsional response and power transfer, the board contains Basalt Power Stringers, this also helps to reduce chatter on the nose and tail for a more comfortable ride.
Topped of with an environmentally friendly textured eco-plastic top sheet made from Castor beans for a scratch and water resistant surface so snow can glide off easily.
The Stratos has a large camber underfoot, small rocker zones in the tail and nose. This means the Stratos will be predictable in difficult terrain and have unbelievable performance when cruising on piste thanks to the large camber area, but will promote float in the nose to keep you from sinking in the deepest of powder.
To finish off this super premium snowboard, the Sintered 9900 is a lightning fast compound that will glide effortlessly over any terrain, and holds more wax than nearly all other bases on the market and the Recycled Round ABS sidewalls will help protect the topsheet from chipping improving the boards overall durability.
