The LifeStraw Universal Kit gives you their original and trusted filter design alongside a selection of bottle cap and mouthpieces (*water bottle not included) that transforms your drinkware into a versatile travel filter for safe drinking water on the go.
The kit features a wide mouth and narrow mouth cap plus interchangeable standard and sport mouthpieces that can be fitted to a range of drinkware from a number of brands including Hydroflask, Klean Kanteen, Camelbak, Nalgene and more. See below for a full list of compatible drinkware.
The Universal Kit comes with a long-lasting microfilter membrane and additional activated carbon filter. The microfilter membrane provides up to 4,000 litres of clean drinking water - enough for an individual for over 5-years. The included activated carbon filter reduces chlorine and bad odours for improved taste. The activated carbon filter lasts up to 100 litres and can be removed when taste poses no issue - for instance when drinking from an alpine source.
The LifeStraw Go uses a microfilter made of hollow fibre membrane technology. These membranes are made of small straws that contain microscopic pores of 0.2 microns in diameter that allow clean water to pass through while preventing larger bacteria, parasites, microplastics, and other forms of turbidity from reaching the clean water chamber at the other end. The result is safe drinking water flows into a clean chamber for consumption while contaminants are blocked.
LifeStraw’s membrane microfilters are capable of removing 99.999999% (log 8) of bacteria (including E. coli), 99.999% (log 5) of parasites (Giardia, Cryptosporidium, etc.), and 99.999% (log 5) of microplastics. The LifeStraw Personal does not filter viruses and should be used in areas/conditions where the water source is known to be free of human contamination.
