The Marker Duke PT 16 is a brand new binding design for this season. Marker has ditched the old Extended Power Frame design of the old Duke and replaced with clever hybrid binding technology for ultimate uphill and downhill performance.
The Duke PT 16 is part of markers royal family which includes the best technology marker has to offer. The toe piece has been redesigned which now combines a regular downhill performance and release function with pin technology, marker calls this ride and hike technology. This is achieved by using Auto Quad Lock design, meaning the toe part locks itself at 4 different points when stepping into the binding and can also be detached to convert the binding into a pin set for uphill ascents. The lack of frame that can be seen on other hike and ride bindings means these come in far lighter than many alternatives. Furthermore, this hybrid functionality has 100% compatibility with Alpine, Touring and GripWalk soles
With the removal of the extended power frame and the use of magnesium components throughout the binding, the Duke PT 16 now has an uphill weight of 1050g and a downhill weight of 1350g. Along with a lock and walk brake mode with a neutral and 10° climbing aid means this binding is an absolute beast wherever you take it on the mountain.
