The Proto Slinger is Never Summer's asymmetrical freestyle snowboard that comes with a soft, playful flex. Never Summer has taken the best parts of the Funslinger and combined it with the all-mountain destroying Proto to create an evolution of freestyle/all-mountain dominance.
The Proto Slinger features a Shock Wave Rocker Camber, and this amazing profile sure does pack a punch. The smaller rocker between the feet will enable you to float through powder and turn quickly with ease, while the longer camber areas create huge amounts of pop. Never Summer has created the best versatile profile available to ride anything on the mountain.
With low profile tips and more contact with the press for better stability, the Proto Slinger feels superb on a huge range of terrain. The built-in FDS Damping System, specially designed with freestyling in mind, uses thin rubber foil to absorb any chatter and give you a smoother ride with a snappier feel.
The Proto Slinger uses the Vario Power Grip Sidecut which gives you the control you need for your speed. It has a straight section between the bindings, a shallow radius section under the feet and a deep radius section on the contact points. This gives quick turn initiation and better edge hold by creating more contact points along the edge.
And not forgetting this snowboard's excellent, asymmetrical shape. A deeper sidecut on the heel edge compensates for decreased leverage in heelside turns and makes your heel side turn feel like a toe side one.
