About the Never Summer Proto Ultra
The Proto Ultra snowboard takes Never Summer's best-selling Proto snowboard and packs it with a freestyle shape, three independent zones of camber and a pressure-distributing rocker to leave you with the ultimate versatile all-mountain freerider.
The Proto Ultra features Never Summer's patented Triple Camber, a ground-breaking snowboard shape that gives you the best of all worlds. This is a playful and forgiving carver/popper that also gives a balanced edge-to-edge hold, power, and precision. This profile type works by using two smaller outside camber areas to give ultimate turn response and performance, whilst the centre rocker acts as a third camber area adding power, control and distributing pressure.
Vario Power Grip Sidecuts are essentially a straight section between the bindings, with a shallow radius section under the feet and a deep radius section on the contact points. This gives the rider quicker turn initiation and better edge hold by creating more contact points along the edge. In turn, the Power Grip sidecut prevents edge wash-outs and allows you to keep control in icy and windblown conditions.
Not only is the Proto Ultra fitted with an incredible RDS 2 Damping System, but also with Never Summer's Elastomeric Underfoot Stabilisers. Packed full of damping layers and vibration absorption technology, these two features working together give you an unbelievably smooth ride and much-improved stability at high speeds.
Built with an ultra-augmented Carbon Configuration layout, the Proto Ultra is filled with a carbon matrix from top to bottom to maximise response and add incredible strength. This provides torsional rigidity with plenty of energy transfer. Combine that with the new WooBoo wood and bamboo core for a lightweight and powerful board to handle anything on the mountain!
The Proto Ultra has remarkable speed. This is all down to the Durasurf XT Sintered 5501 Base. This high-density sintered base is enhanced with graphite, to create a highly durable and super fast base so you can charge through anything at lightning speed. This base is only featured on Never Summers high-end boards so you know you are getting the best!
