About the Petzl Glacier
The Glacier Ice Axe from Petzl gives you a classic ice tool for glacier travel and moderate grade mountaineering routes. The lightweight yet robust design gives you a great companion for long, challenging traverses, from negotiating gullies and couloirs through steep scrambles and self arrest situations.
The ergonomic head provides a comfortable grip for Piolet Canne (the 'Cane' position) when walking on flat or gentle terrain. The tough aluminium shaft gives you support and stability with a stainless steel spike for good penetration and anchoring in all snow conditions.
The high quality steel pick delivers efficient penetration and hold on hard ice with an adze on the reverse for cutting steps and clearing routes. A machined grip offers great hold with the Petzl Linkin Leash for security.
