About the Salomon QST 98
The QST 98 is designed for chasing natural features in the morning, to slaying glades ‘til après, the QST 98 is a playful yet powerful ski. With a new, modern shape and versatile 98mm waist-width, the QST 98 rises to any challenge. Double sidewall technology transmits power to your edges and provides the edge grip and power transmission you’d expect from a hard-charging ski.
With an all-new shape for this year, the QST 98 initiates turns on a dime, while also remaining reliable at speed and the 98mm waist adds flotation in pow, and finesse to glades and bumps. This ski utilises Salomon's CFX Superfiber, which addresses some of the issues with carbon-fibre composites. By weaving Flax fibers along with Carbon, it allows the ski to reap the benefits associated with carbon fibre -lightweight increase in torsional stiffness - while dampening the sometimes twitchy feel that Carbon fibre can give a ski, ultimately leaving the ski with a very dampened and smooth ride quality.
Combined with a full poplar woodcore running from tip to tail and the Ti Power Platform titanium laminate underfoot, this ski keeps a very smooth feel throughout across varied terrain, and strong power transmission to the edges on hardpack. All together this makes for a perfect ski to take out every day, no matter the conditions!
- Double Sidewalls tech with Cork Damplifier- ABS construction running around the entire sidewall adds strength and increases ski/snow contact, the cork reduces vibrations
- CFX Superfiber - A unique fiber layer consisting of Carbon and Flax woven together, running tip-to-tail. It combines the incredible strength, stability and minimal weight of carbon fiber with the increased level of dampening and vibration absorption of the flax. It's patented and exclusive to Salomon
- All-Terrain Rocker - Rockered tip for easy turn initiation and maximum floatation, camber underfoot to improve stability at speed and edge grip on hard pack, subtle tail rocker for smooth turn exits
- Hook Free Taper - The Ski has a sidecut which tapers in the tip and tail at their extremities, the result is easy turn initiation and manoeuvrability, especially in soft snow
- Full Poplar woodcore-A full Woodcore construction maximizes liveliness, stability and ski-to-snow contact while filtering vibrations.
- Ti Power Platform - Titanium laminate in the centre of ski, improving the torsional stiffness and overall stability as well as helping power transmission to the edges of the ski when riding on hard snow
