The Backcountry Bed features a compact 38 x 19 cm packed size with a trail weight of 890g - great for fast-moving outdoor adventures from minimalist hikes to wild camping weekends and gap year travel.
Sierra Designs have reduced the Backcountry Bed's weight in several innovative ways without compromising on function. 700 fill DriDown® delivers high-loft insulation that maintains thermal efficiency even when damp. A sleeping pad sleeve in the base holds a pad in place for comfort and warmth and replaces unnecessary bottom insulation (sleeping pad not included). A lightweight 20D nylon ripstop shell and liner further keeps the pack weight low.
The Backcountry Bed features Sierra Designs' patented zipperless design. In place of a zip that can add weight and restrict movement, it features an oversized integrated comforter that works with insulated hand/arm pockets to seal out drafts and keep the comforter wrapped around your body while you sleep. For warmer weather camping, the comforter can simply be folded out of the way as you would a duvet letting you choose your level of warmth to suit.
A stretch cord closure system seals out drafts for added protection while an innovative self-sealing foot vent lets you slip your feet free from the bag for fast and easy ventilation on warmer nights.
