About the Smith Variance
The Smith Variance ski/snowboard helmet offers full performance and protection in a sleek design. Designed to optimise comfort and reduce weight the Variance utilises Smith's premium helmet fit.
Smith's Hybrid shell construction combines the best of a tough Bombshell ABS shell on top with a lightweight low profile In-Mould shell for the back and sides providing exceptional protection in an ultra lightweight package.
The Variance can be custom fit using the X Boa fit system in the three quarter halo design which enables you to loosen or tighten it on the go. You can also adjust the vertical position of the halo to ensure it sits correctly on the head, optimising comfort and performance. The goggle clip at the rear of the helmet is also removable allowing you to wear goggles underneath or over the helmet.
The Variance has been designed to provide full goggle integration through an AirEvac2 ventilation system, which draws warm moist air away from the head and goggles through external vents and internal channels in the EPS liner. The low-profile regulators allow you to open and close the 18 vents so you get the amount of cooling you prefer and the glove friendly slider can be adjusted easily while on the move.
The microbial Nanosilver lining and Snapfit ear pads are removable and machine washable to keep your helmet fresh and comfy and pouches in the ear pads allow audio drop ins to be inserted so you can listen to music on the go.
