About the Union Explorer FC
New for 2022, the Explorer FC takes inspiration from the standard Explorer binding but thanks to Union's Forged Carbon technology, it's lighter and stronger, allowing you to go further and longer.
The Forged Carbon heelcup is exclusive to the Explorer FC and comes in 70 grams lighter than the traditional extruded aluminium heelcup. A lighter heelcup which retains all of the strength and durability you'd expect from Union, Forged Carbon is perfect for Splitboarding, where keeping weight down is vital.
The EXP2 Duraflex ST highback is the same material as regular Duraflex, but with increased glass for more response without the weight. It has been designed specifically for cold temperatures, meaning you get consistent performance, whatever the conditions. Union's Split Flad allows you to easily switch from hike mode to ride mode on the Union Explorer FC and a quicker change over time means more snowboarding for you.
The Explorer FC features the Exofram 5.0 ankle strap, utilizes tri-axial prgressive flex for the perfect boot to binding fit and instant power transfer, making it ideal for touring. The new TS 4.0+ is simple, lightweight and durable, keeping you locked in without you noticing its even there. Both the ankle and toe straps are easily adjusted thanks to the toolless, pin adjustment. Combine this with Union's brand new Magnesium S1 rachets, which are lighter in weight and much longer lasting than Union's already market leading Magnesium ratchets.
Union have introduced titanium pin and screws for the Explorer FC which further reduces weight. The EVA Non-Stick Gas Pedal footbed reduces ice and snow build-up to make sure you always have a secure fit.
Alongside your bindings, Union's split strap, crampons and quiver disks are included in the box.
