About the Mantra 102 | Griffon 13 ID
Back for 2021 the Volkl M5 Mantra incorporates a camber profile and tightening the sidecut to bring you the most accessible Mantra to date that excels on the firmer resort conditions you would expect in Europe.
The new Mantra has been made more accessible, meaning that a broader range of abilities will be able to benefit from Volkl's legendary all-mountain/freeride ski. It features a reduced 102mm waist, 4mm less than previous iterations, which improves its on piste abilities by making it quicker and easier to get on edge. Further to the reduction in waist width the Mantra now features a titanal frame, rather than the full titanal layup that it had in previous seasons. In reducing the amount of metal present in the ski it has been made more nimble, playful, and user friendly.
Whilst the Mantra is now more suited than it ever has been to intermediate skiers it is certainly not lacking in performance for advanced/expert skiers. To compensate for the lack of metal in the tip of the ski Volkl has added carbon tips that provide excellent levels of torsional stiffness without a large amount of added weight. These lightweight but stable tips allow you to ski hard and fast all over the mountain with Volkls renowned edges allowing you to cut through firm conditions without a second thought.
Not only does the M5 Mantra excel in-bounds but it retains its ability to go anywhere with deep rocker lines providing good amounts of float and the moderate taper making it easy to initiate turns in soft, off-piste snow. This directional charger is well suited to a variety of ability levels and is an excellent choice for skiers looking for one ski to do it all, with a slight focus more towards in-bounds skiing.
