About the Weston Hatchet
Bucking the trend of traditional snowboard design, Weston’s Hatchet Snowboard has been crafted with a shorter length for increased agility, whilst an increased surface area allows for greater float, allowing you to glide with superior dexterity around trees and down pillow lines.
Further design choices that differentiate the Hatchet from the rest of the pack are its Directional Twinish Shape, which is slightly tapered on the nose and marginally longer on the tail, all whilst keeping the stance centred on the camber. These unique features come together in a perfect harmony of form and function, allowing for even greater float over powder whilst also being ideal for landing and riding switch. The board ais also built with PU sidewalls for amplified durability and increased dampening over traditional UHMW sidewalls, allowing you to ride with confidence that the Hatchet won’t give out after a few washouts.
With Multi Radial Twin Camber profile in combination with the S Weave Carbon from base to topsheet, the Hatchet promises a reliable edgehold and maximum pop. Furthermore, a rugged top sheet made from castor bean oil adds durability, along with easily letting snow slide off the board to keep your weight light and your speed high, with an Electra Sintered base providing additional speed, along with easy P-Tex repair. Moreover, with a sustainable bamboo and poplar core, Weston have made a commitment to 1% for the Planet; ensuring that the natural world remains as pristine as possible to enjoy powder days for generations to come.
Weston’s proud tradition of working with local artists continues with the Hatchet, featuring a graphic design by Coloradan artist John Fellows; evoking dreamlike imagery of Viking longboats cutting through the waves, complementing hatchets that cleave through the snow.
